FREE FDNY CPR Training
February 1 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
The FDNY Mobile CPR Training Unit runs free, fast-paced, classes in compressions-only CPR and AED use to all community members in the five boroughs. The diverse group of certified FDNY Emergency Medical Service (EMS) professionals who teach these classes have trained thousands of New Yorkers in the past few years in these life-saving skills. The classes consist of education on cardiovascular health, practicing compressions-only cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on mannequins, and the basics on how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
The overall goal of this program is to prepare people to act as citizen responders in the event of a cardiac arrest to help save a life until an ambulance arrives. Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest is responsible for an estimated 380,000 deaths nationally every year. You can double the chances of someone surviving a cardiac arrest.
This class is also available to children 8th grade and up.
